Helping foreigners live in Japan as influencers: “They” will be back
Introduction
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic over the world, inbound tourism has stalled, which affects Japanese economy badly. Sightseeing places and facilities as well as metropolitan commercial areas have been staggering with foreigners backing off. Hopefully, Japanese economy will put its power back on its feet.
But the number of COVID-19 cases in Japan can prove Japan is a safe and hygienic country with sense of unity and solidarity. We are getting through the hard time by self-control, not by government strict orders and punishments. I’m sure many foreigners will be back to Japan after COVID-19 is gone. That takes time, but not so long. Tokyo Olympics should be held next summer.
More than that, Japan has other problems such as the low birthrate and the aging society. In order to solve these problems, I suggest we give them an offer to live in Japan as long as possible, not visit or stay for a while. They will come to Japan not just to go sightseeing or shopping, but to talk with us about the future of Japan. We need them desperately.
I know there are many things to get through—laws and customs etc.—but, The SketchBOX Design Office believe there are many foreigners who love Japan, and want to learn Japanese culture, and that they will choose Sendai to live, have a family in Sendai, and inform all over the world of the charm of Sendai. We will support them as influencers playing an important role of guides who give some tips to find a place to live. I’m sure they will be trained well to do some good work to get good economy back to our country.

【計画内容】
新型コロナウイルスの世界的な感染拡大によってストップしたインバウンドの影響は現在の日本経済にとって最大の不安要素となっています。連日メディアで報道される首都圏商業地はじめ全国の観光地、施設の経済的窮状に、改めて日本経済がインバウンド無しに立ち行かない実態を映し出しています。
とは言っても、新型コロナウイルスの感染拡大が沈静化した後、世界各国は日本の感染者・死亡者の実数を見る事により、日本国民の衛生意識の高さや各種個人活動の自粛に現れた連帯意識・公共意識、日本の高度医療や治安の良さを改めて認識し、安全で衛生的な国「日本」へ向け再び多くの人々が訪れる事でしょう。決してV字回復にはならなくとも、徐々にインバンドは回復する事は間違いないと思います。また、そうならなければ東京五輪の開催さえ危ぶまれてしまいます。
その様な中、少子高齢化・人口減少が進む日本の今後を考えると、観光や一時的な消費が目的の「立ち寄り客」だけではなく、日本国民として私たちと一緒に「日本の将来を語り合い、思い描く外国人の定住化」が不可欠だと考えています。
制度的な課題や問題が多々ある事は承知しています。
しかし、当事務所は、「日本が好き」「日本の文化を学びたい」「仙台で暮らしたい」「仙台で家庭を持ちたい」「仙台の魅力を世界に発信したい」という外国人を、インバウンド回復の重要なインフルエンサーとして捉え「優良な住まいの情報提供・ガイド役」という面からサポート・育成したいと考えています。
